Computer Programming & Robotics - incoming or current Geffen Academy students only

Available to incoming or current Geffen Academy students only.

Students will begin or continue their journey into learning Computer Science with VEXcode VR Computer Science Level 1 – Blocks Course, Python viewer, or Python.  Students will also employ robot design and programming skills to focus on building robots using VEX hardware and software. Students will also learn about project flow, loops, conditionals, and algorithms. Students will investigate concepts by working as a team to design a racecourse using the engineering process and then building it in the classroom to scale in order to compete in a race using robots. Students may also use VEX VR-code platform to code a virtual robot using a Block-based coding environment powered by Scratch Blocks. 

Students with limited computer coding and programming experience are encouraged to join! This combined course is self-guided, and students can move at their preferred pace.
