For applicants who are moving through the 2020-21 admissions process, please complete the steps below:

Step 1

Submit the results of standardized testing by Jan. 24, 2020. Exam scores from August 2017 and on will be accepted and must be uploaded to the portal by the applicant family.* 

*To promote a fair, open and educationally beneficial evaluation of students in the admissions process, Geffen Academy at UCLA will allow families the option of taking the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) to fulfill the standardized testing requirement of the application. We are unable to provide waivers for the ISEE. If your family would like to inquire about a fee waiver for the SSAT, please contact

Step 2

Submit two letters of recommendation (at least one academic) and academic transcripts (2018-19 and Fall 2019) by Jan. 24, 2020, through the admissions portal. Please find the transcript request form here.

Step 3

Apply for tuition assistance, if applicable, by Jan. 31, 2020.

Step 4

Receive notification of admissions decisions:
  • March 6, 2020 – Upper School (grades 9-11)
  • March 13, 2020 – Middle School (grades 6-8)

Step 5

Enrollment responses and contracts due:
  • March 16, 2020 – Upper School
  • March 23, 2020 – Middle School

Late applications
: Geffen Academy at UCLA will consider later applications from faculty and staff being recruited to the UCLA community due to the higher education hiring cycle and timeline. We will work with families on a case-by-case basis to ensure the student’s candidacy is thoroughly vetted in accordance with our general guidelines for admissions.
Geffen Academy at UCLA utilizes a paperless admissions process. We will not accept paper transcripts, recommendations or testing. All materials must be submitted through the admissions portal.
