Cicely Suazo

M.A. - Learning Skills Specialist
Cicely comes to Geffen Academy with over nine years of experience in the field of education. 
She has an extensive background working with students of all ages, abilities, and learning needs. Her experience includes: working with at-risk middle and high school students when she was employed at Children Uniting Nations (a nonprofit organization), serving as a behavior interventionist with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, serving as a Lead Intervention Teacher at Pacific Point Academy, and, most recently, functioning as a third-grade associate teacher in charge of meeting the specialized needs of diverse learners at the Chadwick School. Cicely enjoys helping students discover their strengths so they can become self-confident, independent, lifelong learners. Cicely holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge, and a master of arts degree in general education, with an emphasis in special education, from Loyola Marymount University. She works closely with Dr. Teresa Young, our Learning Specialist.
