Katya Malikov

M.S. - Mathematics Department Chair
Katya is passionate about helping students acquire the skills to improve their logical reasoning and problem-solving techniques while deepening their appreciation for the beauty of mathematics.
She taught mathematics at the Maimonides Academy in West Hollywood from 2001-2010 and at Shalhevet High School from 2010—2017, where she was Chair of the Mathematics Department. In addition to teaching a full course load, Katya introduced rigorous placement testing and tracking, and collaborated with colleagues to create a comprehensive curriculum for every level of each math course. Katya is a recipient of the Milken Jewish Educator Award for 2014. Her appreciation for math was developed at one of Moscow’s math-specialized high schools, which also inspired her to earn an M.S. in Mathematics from Moscow State University.
