Armando Guerrero Jr.
Ph.D. – Spanish Educator
Dr. Guerrero is a sociolinguist and dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish. He earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages & Literature at UCLA, his MA in Spanish at UCLA, and his BA in Spanish and Philosophy with a minor in Educational Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
Dr. Guerrero is a sociolinguist and dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish. He earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages & Literature at UCLA, his MA in Spanish at UCLA, and his BA in Spanish and Philosophy with a minor in Educational Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
At Geffen Academy, he exposes students to the varieties found across Spanish as a language and a community, developing critical thinking and sensitivity toward diversity. He encourages students to develop cultural awareness to become intentional global citizens in our interconnected societies.
A public scholar, Armando has also collaborated with organizations such as BuzzFeed’s PeroLike, Google, and the Los Angeles County Public Defender to support his communities. Outside of his passion for language and culture, he enjoys practicing yoga, cycling, and competing in CrossFit.
