Robotics & Coding in the Age of AI
This course offers an inclusive, high-energy environment where students learn coding while exploring the exciting world of robotics, along with an engaging introduction to how AI tools are transforming modern programming and engineering. Beginners receive clear, step-by-step guidance, while more experienced students move at their own pace through deeper challenges. Through interactive demonstrations, hands-on robotics activities, fast-paced coding missions, and collaborative team challenges, students build problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence. They experiment with how AI can support brainstorming and troubleshooting—while still doing the real thinking themselves—and create original coding and robotics-based projects that reflect their interests, from responsive behaviors to game-like experiences and creative engineering challenges. The course ends with an upbeat showcase where students share their work and innovative ideas, leaving with a strong foundation in coding, robotics concepts, collaboration, and innovation—and the fun of bringing ideas to life in the age of AI.

I-Track (Makerspace)
I-Track is an essential academic pillar at Geffen Academy. The department encapsulates design thinking as a framework for future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. In this 3-week course, students use Geffen Academy’s Makerspace to solve real-world problems, often building solutions with their own hands. Students will create prototypes using a variety of tools, including textiles, hand tools, and modeling. This course will be self-guided, with supervision and instruction from two Educators, with student safety at the core of each assignment.
