Dr. Guerrero, or Profe Guerrero to his students, is a sociolinguist and passionate educator with over a decade of experience in teaching Spanish. He holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages & Literature and an M.A. in Spanish from UCLA, as well as a B.A. in Spanish and Philosophy with a minor in Educational Studies from UC Santa Barbara.

At Geffen Academy, Dr. Guerrero immerses students in the diverse world of the Spanish language and its communities, fostering critical thinking and an appreciation for cultural diversity. He is committed to nurturing students’ cultural awareness and empowering them to become conscientious global citizens in today’s interconnected world.

 

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Guerrero is an active public scholar, collaborating with organizations like BuzzFeed’s Pero Like, Google, and the Los Angeles County Public Defender to uplift and support his communities. In his free time, he enjoys practicing yoga, cycling, and competing in CrossFit.
