M.A. - Spanish Educator
Luis is originally from El Paso, Texas, and completed his master’s degree in Spanish literature at the University of Oklahoma.
There, he taught for the past couple of years. In addition, he received a master’s in Spanish language education from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares. Through his professional development, teaching at the university, and his student teaching at a secondary school in El Paso, he has developed a variety of methods to reach learners at the different stages of language development. Luis brings to the department an excitement for teaching language, a passion for poetry, and an engagement with modern genres such as the “Narcocorrido.” Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated the know-how and a deep commitment to guiding students in learning about language and taking on cultural perspectives. Luis holds a B.A. from St. Mary’s University.
