Christian Reed

Ph.D. - English & Humanities Educator
Christian Reed is a published essayist whose work has examined the writing of Herman Melville and Jorge Luis Borges. He has been an Educator at Geffen Academy’s English Department since 2017.

As a scholar and teacher, Christian considers literature a powerful tool for altering one’s perspective on life and how one may choose to live it. He particularly enjoys how a well-crafted story can inspire young readers to create dynamic characters in their own writing.

Prior to joining the Geffen Academy community, Christian worked with primary source materials for the Marlon Brando Estate and the UCLA Library Special Collections, where he won a national award for a collaborative poetry project that involved archival holdings. He also taught literature and cultural studies classes at Occidental College and Cal Poly Pomona.
