Maximiliano Villicaña

M.A.T. - English Educator
In addition to teaching 7th and 8th Grade English, Mr. Villicaña is the Latinx Club Advisor.
Mr. Villicaña has served for over a decade as both a high school and middle school teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area, receiving his B.A. in Spanish from the University of San Francisco and his master of arts degree in teaching from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, having deeply immersed himself in the study of Dante's Divina Commedia in Siena, Italy. Prior to working at Geffen Academy, he was the middle school English Department Head at Menlo School. He is a trained facilitator of the National Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity Project, leading seminars for faculty and staff to acknowledge systems of oppression, power, and privilege in educational institutions with the explicit goal of cultivating greater equity and diversity inside the classroom.
