Sarah Harrell

Ph.D. - Latin & Linguistics Educator
Dr. Harrell teaches Latin and Linguistics at Geffen Academy and provides students with learning support through the Learning Specialist Office. 

Dr. Harrell earned her B.A. in Ancient Greek and Latin from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. in Classics from Princeton University. Her research focus was on the poetry, history, and material culture related to ancient Greek tyrants in Sicily. She has studied and traveled extensively in Greece and Italy, and has taught Latin, Ancient Greek, and Classical Studies at all levels, from elementary to college and university students. She has a deep love for the study of language and the ancient world and feels privileged to share that passion with students at Geffen Academy. In her spare time, she loves to travel, swim, read, explore LA, and spend time with her husband, Aaron, and her cat, Hector.
