Caitlin Callaghan

Ph.D. - I-Track Educator
Dr Callaghan works in the middle school as the 6th and 7th grade I-Track Educator, fostering curiosity and exploration through project-based learning.

During her Ph.D., Caitlin mentored UCI engineering students through their first experiences with functional device development. Her mentorship extends to FIRST Robotics Competition, wherein she served as a mentor to Crescenta Valley High School and Harvard-Westlake School. She was a founding educator for UCI GATI x BEAM, introducing high school students to the nuances of accessibility technology through rehabilitative and entrepreneurial lenses.

Caitlin prefers a hands-on approach to teaching innovation and iteration, challenging students to identify what didn’t work, so they can apply that knowledge to decide what to try next. Outside the classroom, she enjoys museums, sci-fi movies, and hiking the trails of Los Angeles.
