Debrah Fine
Debrah brings a wealth of K-12 STEM teaching experience to Geffen Academy, having taught both middle and upper school at La Jolla Country Day School. Most recently, Debrah headed up the Vertex Learning Lab in San Diego, where she collaborated closely with leaders and scientists at the company to deliver high-quality STEM education, scholarships, and internship programs to talented students in the San Diego Unified School District.
Growing up in California, Debrah attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts to study dance and then discovered her passion for both STEM research and teaching as an undergrad at UCLA. While earning her Ph.D. in Virology from Harvard University, Debrah served as a teaching fellow for undergraduate chemistry and biology courses at Harvard and as a teaching consultant at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, working closely with new teaching fellows to improve the quality of undergraduate education.
Debrah is thrilled to be back at her alma mater, working to inspire and equip the next generation with a passion for all things STEM!
