Amber de Seriere-Pataki

Amber de Seriere-Pataki believes some of the most meaningful learning happens when students are moving, connecting, and discovering what they are capable of alongside others. As a Physical Education educator and department leader at Geffen Academy, she strives to create spaces where students can experience the joy of movement, feel a strong sense of belonging, and build meaningful relationships with their peers. She sees Physical Education as an opportunity for students to try something new, challenge themselves, support one another, and develop a relationship with movement that lasts well beyond school.

Before joining Geffen Academy, Amber led the Physical Education and Extended Day programs at AltSchool in Palo Alto, where her work centered on physical literacy and social-emotional development. She also brings more than 10 years of experience coaching soccer at the collegiate, high school, and club levels, including serving as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at West Los Angeles College and Girls’ Soccer Program Director at Marlborough School. Across both teaching and coaching, relationships have always been at the center of her work.

Amber earned a B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal State LA and an M.A. in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Outside of school, some of her favorite movement happens outdoors—hiking, camping, and backpacking with her family in the Sierras.
