David Collicutt
M.A. - Athletic Director & Golf Program Director
David oversees Geffen Academy's robust competitive athletics program, with 45 competitive teams in 18 different sports.
David Collicutt serves as Athletic Director at Geffen Academy at UCLA and is a member of the CIF Southern Section Executive Council, the administrative body of the 560-member organization that oversees interscholastic athletics throughout Southern California. He also serves as President of the Coastal League, providing leadership and oversight for the seven-member schools that compete together in league athletics.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, David coached Geffen Academy's Boys' Varsity Soccer team to the school's first-ever CIF Southern Section Championship in 2022 and was subsequently named CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year. He currently serves as Program Director for the Academy's competitive golf program.
David has served as an athletic director since 1999. Prior to joining Geffen Academy, he spent 17 years as Athletic Director and coach at Marlborough School in Los Angeles. In 2016, he was recognized as one of the inaugural CIF Southern Section MVP Athletic Directors. He continues to serve on the CIF Southern Section Athletic Administrators Committee, Small Schools Advisory Committee, Soccer Advisory Committee, and Technology Committee.
Beyond his work in secondary education, David served as an adjunct professor at Concordia University Irvine, where he taught advanced technology in the M.A. program in Coaching and Athletic Administration. He is also a frequent presenter at California State Athletic Director conferences, leadership summits, and graduate-level courses.
In recognition of his leadership and contributions to educational athletics, David received the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) California State Award of Merit and the Concordia University Award of Excellence in 2018. In 2026, he was recognized as a CIF Southern Section Champion for Character, an honor that celebrates exemplary leadership, integrity, sportsmanship, and service to educational athletics.
Originally from England, David attended Oxford Brookes University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a postgraduate professional diploma. While at Oxford Brookes, he captained both the university cricket and football (soccer) teams.
