COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this fitness course, which follows set guidelines per the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s stance on weightlifting for young adults, students will learn the basics behind designing their own individualized fitness program. Proper technique will be emphasized for all activities, and modifications to exercises will be taught based on students’ needs. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to use an Olympic barbell and the various exercises that can be utilized with it. Additionally, students will learn proper gym/weight room etiquette. Please wear comfortable workout clothing; bring water, a snack, and a towel.
