DEI AT GEFFEN ACADEMY AT THE INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
The following examples are a sampling of some of our actions and commitments at this level; this list is not exhaustive.

  • Advisory and Wellness lessons on identity markers and identity wheels, personal values, and ethical decision-making
  • Added additional Wellness and Advisory Educator
  • Expanded the Advisory and Wellness lessons on identity markers and identity wheels, personal values, and ethical decision-making
  • August professional development on examining individual privilege and bias (featuring an interactive reflection game called "Your Privilege is Showing")
  • Summer book club for white Educators on anti-racism and allyship
  • Creation of Educator-led safe spaces (e.g., Educator affinity groups) to celebrate and support the interactions of personal identity and professional journeys 

  • The creation of an “accountability buddy” system for Educators to support Educators through their anti-racist professional and personal  journey
