Luis Miguel Macías

M.A. - Spanish Educator
Luis Miguel is originally from El Paso, Texas, and completed his master’s degrees in teaching Spanish as a second language at the University of Alcalá de Henares and Spanish literature at the University of Oklahoma.

 
At the University of Alcalá de Henares in Spain, he taught English at an elementary school in Madrid and Spanish at the Hispanic-Romanian Center at the Hispanic-Romanian Center in Aclalá de Henares. 
 
Luis Miguel received his second master's degree in Spanish literature at the University of Oklahoma, where he taught for a couple of years. Through his professional development, teaching at the university, and student teaching at a secondary school in El Paso, he has developed a variety of methods to reach learners at the different stages of language development. Luis Miguel brings to the department an excitement for teaching language, a passion for poetry from the Spanish Golden Age, and an engagement with modern genres such as the “Corrido" and its most recent manifestations. Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated the know-how and a deep commitment to guiding students in learning about language and taking on cultural perspectives. Luis Miguel holds a B.A. from St. Mary’s University.
