Alan Kim

M.A. - Science Department Chair 
Alan Kim has taught courses in chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, biotechnology, nutrition and performance, and genetics for 9th through 12th grade.
He believes in experiential learning to build both content knowledge and skills. Prior to joining us, Alan worked at Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School (LREI), a K-12 progressive independent school, in New York City from 2014-2018. He has also taught chemistry and biological science abroad and as an elementary school science teacher in Los Angeles. He earned a B.A. in Biology and English and American Literature from Brandeis University as well as an M.A. in Education from Pepperdine University.
